Lightweight sensation Shakur Stevenson sees no stipulation in Gervonta Davis not facing him. Over the last three to four years, the fans have been pointing out the Davis vs Stevenson fight. However, it has not been able to become a reality.
The 2016 Olympic silver medalist sees that there has to be a problem on Davis’ side if he is not being able to make the fight in the modern boxing circle.
Stevenson is referring to the influence of Turki Al-Sheikh in the last two years, where he has made so many big boxing fights happen with ease.
When all of the top fighters are working with Turki, Davis has not accepted his lucrative offers.
Stevenson told The Ring Podcast: “He goes out there, he disses me all the time, and speak bad about my name, so it’s like, um… If you feel the way that you feel about me, oh, I’m not this, and I didn’t do nothing for the sport of boxing, as you, like, stated, then fight me.”
Gervonta Davis has to beat Lamont Roach Jr this summer, with whom he had a controversial draw on 1 March 2025. Over 95 per cent of boxing fans and pundits pointed out on social media that Roach should have awarded a victory over a draw.
Having won 28 of his 30 fights via knockout, Davis’ 31st fight came as a draw. Facing Stevenson might be troublesome, as he moves well and is unbeaten with 23 wins in 23 contests.
