Nishant Dev is one of India’s most famous pro boxers. He was born on 23 December 2000 in Karnal, Haryana, India.
Nishant has represented India in amateur wrestling in the 71 kg division, with a career best highlight of winning a bronze medal at the 2023 World Championships.
He then led India in 71 kg at the Paris 2024 Olympics, but lost to Mexican Boxer Marco Verde in a controversial fight. Because most boxing experts saw Nishant winning the fight. It was the moment when he decided to turn professional.
Early Life
Nishant Dev started to learn boxing in 2012. Nishant’s uncle became the biggest reason behind opening boxing as a future.

Amateur Boxing
In Tashkent, Nishant won the bronze medal at the 2023 World Championships as a light middleweight. This was his biggest career high on record.
However, he had a window of winning an Olympic medal in 2024. But Nishant was robbed quarter-finals as the victory was given to Marco Verde in a medal-winning contest.

Nishant Dev got a jackpot as he became the first Indian to sign a deal with Matchroom Boxing. He made his pro boxing debut against Alton Wiggins in January 2024 and won by a brutal first-round TKO.
