Gervonta Davis vs Shakur Stevenson is one of the fights in the boxing world that fans are eager to see. However, there is no official confirmation about the contest taking place anytime soon. Tank Davis, who is one of the biggest crowd-pullers in the boxing world, is the A-side dictating the terms. However, he has not done many meaningful fights despite being at the top level since 2019. Both boxers are unbeaten in the professional ranks, with Davis having a bit more experience overall.

Gervonta Davis vs Shakur Stevenson: Fight Status and Outlook

1: Gervonta Davis and Shakur Stevenson have not agreed to an official fight. However, they have done a lot of back and forth on X loaded with allegations.

2: There are chances of the mega boxing fight happening in 2026. It would most likely be in the United States for 12 rounds.

3: Davis is the WBA Super lightweight champion, while Stevenson holds the WBC lightweight title. Hence, it could be a massive unification. However, in between, neither fighter should lose any of their boxing contests.

Fighting Style

  • Gervonta Davis is an unbeaten professional boxer with 30 wins and a draw. He has raw knockout power, winning 28 fights by KO/TKO.
  • Shakur Stevenson is also unbeaten in professional ranks, with 23 wins in 23 fights, 11 KOs.

In a nutshell, Tank is known for his boxing ability and punch power at best. But Stevenson is somebody who relies on his boxing ability and fast movement.

Gervonta Davis Criticism

1: Gervonta Davis has the massive ability to sell tickets due to his eye-catching style of boxing. But in 2024 and 2025, the boxing fans have shown their anger over Tank not moving away from Premier Boxing Champions promotion, despite they do not have a streaming deal.

Since Turki Al-Sheikh arrived in boxing (October 2023), money-related issues in boxing have not been happening anymore. While all the boxers want to associate with Turki, Tank has refused. He could easily make Teofimo Lopez, Devin Haney, Stevenson and other boxing contests with Turki Al-Sheikh.

But him staying away is indicating to fans that Tank likes to make the fights when his opponent is not 100 per cent. Gervonta beat Ryan Garcia in April 2023 by a seven-round knockout. But Devis drained Ryan with the rehydration clause.

2: Shakur Stevenson is possibly open to fighting anybody. But there have been times when Stevenson dodged the possible fight due to money-related issues. It does not suit his claims for placing bigger fights ahead of money. Stevenson has beaten some good fighters, but his CV is not stacked. So, he is not being tested as much as Tank.

Gervonta Davis Recent Weakness

Gervonta Davis did not have any negatives in his boxing style before getting a draw against Lamont Roach Jr on 1 March 2025. It became a controversial fight that went 12 rounds, with Roach should have given a knockdown advantage against Tank. But it was not given by the referee. At the end, it became the key reason that took victory from Lamont’s victory. This has made the fans feel that the reason Tank does not fight the best is fear of losing. Even the rematch against Roach Jr is not in Tank’s plans.

Gervonta Davis vs Shakur Stevenson: What makes their styles work?

Gervonta Davis does not like to move much, with knockout being his biggest strength. However he has an elite boxing brain, which the fans have seen already.

Stevenson is not a big puncher, but a great mover in the boxing ring. His defensive work is hailed all over the world. Hence, it becomes a battle with two sharp-minded pugilists in the ring, where the outcome is hard to predict. It could be Tank winning by KO or a fight going all 12 rounds.

Stevenson has not faced anybody with pure boxing power like Gervonta; hence, the boxing fans find it very interesting and see it as a 50-50 matchup.

Davis and Stevenson: Biggest Wins

1: Gervonta Davis’ biggest career wins are Ryan Garcia, Rolando Romero and Isaac Cruz. But a section of fight fans see that the Cruz fight should have been awarded as a draw or in favour of Cruz.

2: Shakur Stevenson’s biggest career wins are Oscar Valdez and Jamel Herring. However, he is three years younger than Davis, so there is time for him to make his CV at the level or better than Tank at 30.

Davis has a deeper and better CV overall. But he could have added more names to his CV. Shakur has time, with three years younger (than Tank), so the gap could be filled.

Conclusion

Gervonta Davis vs Shakur Stevenson is indeed a fight that fight fans do like to see. Other than some social media talk, there is nothing special happened that could have sealed this fight. But the fans have a hope to see Davis take on Stevenson in 2026. But nothing substantial has come out yet.
