Deontay Wilder, 39, feels there is nothing much to prove in the boxing ring, but he has an aim of becoming the unified heavyweight champion.
Wilder, who has been considered a modern boxing great, has lost four of his last five fights. In June 2024, he was knocked out by Zhilei Zhang in the fifth round.
Wilder lost his WBC title to Tyson Fury in February 2020. Since then, he has never been able to make a sound comeback.
Wilder has won 43 of his 48 fights, with four defeats and a draw.
He said: “I don’t have anything left to prove. I have a state-funded statue back home. I am a walking, living legend. But being the unified heavyweight champion is one of my goals. Here I am once again, ready to go baby.”
On 27 June 2025, he is having a comeback fight against Tyrrell Anthony Herndon and then moving forward for the big fights ahead.
