Bill Haney, the father of famous boxer Devin Haney, had strong words exchanged with boxing legend and promoter Oscar de la Hoya during a historic pre-fight press conference.
Haney was not happy with Ryan Garcia, who failed the drug test in 2023 for a fight where Devin did take part.
At first, it did look as if Garcia outdid Haney. But days later, it was confirmed that Garcia was positive in a drug test.
Later, the fight was contested as ‘No Result’. But Bill still feels that there is a need for a rematch between Garcia and Haney to find out who is the best.
Both fighters have faced each other during their amateur days, too.
Garcia and Heney are ready to battle in a historical boxing match event happening at Times Square on May 2, 2025 (Friday). They can buy PPV on DAZN to watch the official streaming.
Ryan Garcia vs Rolly Romero is leading the card, with Devin Haney and Jose Ramirez, and Teofimo Lopez vs Arnold Barboza Jr are co-main events.
However, all three fights are worthy of being main events on separate shows. However, fans will see three back-to-back amazing fights.

Bill Haney did use harsh words towards Garcia for getting pumped up (doping claims).
He said: “His voice changed back. Your physique changed! You’ve got titties now! Those muscles gone, your voice is gone. This motherf*cker is gone!”
It made Garcia’s promoter De La Hoya angry.
He said: “There’s three main events, three great fights. Sit down, learn how to promote. We can have four if you want. Me and you!”
