Skye Nicolson’s father, Allan Nicolson, was born in Glasgow, Scotland. Her mother, Pat Nicolson, was born in London, England.
However, her parents moved to Australia before her birth and opened a gym in memory of their late son Jamie and Gavin.
Sad siblings’ story: Skye had two siblings. However, both of her brothers lost their lives in an unfortunate car accident in February 1994. The incident took place a year beofre she was born.
Her brother Jamie Nicolson was born on November 9, 1971. He represented Australia in amateur boxing, winning the bronze medals at the 1989 World Amateur Championships and the 1990 Commonwealth Games.
He even competed at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. At the young age of 22, he passed away on February 28, 1994.

Early Life
Skye Nicolson was born and brought up as the only child of her parents, who named their gym ‘Jamie Nicolson Memorial Gym’ in memory of their late son.
Having a boxing culture in the family, Nicolson enrolled to become a boxer at the young age of 12. As a result, she grew up around famous pugilists Cherneka Johnson and Che Kenneally.
Her schooling was done at Our Lady’s College in Annerley. When it comes to higher education, she went to Griffith University.
Amateur Career
Skye Nicolson has a decent amateur boxing experience, having won the World Championships bronze in 2016 and the Commonwealth Games gold in 2018.
At the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, she managed to reach the quarter-finals and lost to Great Britain’s Karriss Artingstall 3-2. Her amateur career was a standout one, with 107 wins and 32 losses.
Professional Career
In December 2021, Skye Nicolson signed a promotional deal with Matchroom Sport. On 3 March 2022, she beat Jessica Juarez in a unanimous decision victory (6 rounds) at the Pechanga Arena, San Diego, United States.
- Commonwealth female featherweight title: On 15 October 2022, she beat Krystina Jacobs in a 10-round fight to win her first pro career title.
- WBC female featherweight title: It took her 10 professional fights to win the major title. Nicolson defeated Sarah Mahfoud in a 10-round contest on 6 April 2024.

- On 13 July 2024: Skye beat Dyana Vargas in a fight that went full 10 rounds (UD). The fight took place at the Wells Fargo Centre in Florida.
- Beating Raven Chapman: On 12 October 2024, Nicolson beat a credible Brit Chapman to defend her title in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
- 22 March 2025: Tiara Brown, now 19-0, became the first boxer to beat Skye Nicolson and became the WBC female featherweight champion. It was a shocking defeat that Skye faced at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney. Brown was an unknown female boxer to many, but she looked better in every manner against Nicolson.
