Frank Smith, who is the Matchroom Boxing CEO, is unclear about the potential fight between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua.
AJ is not retired yet, but Fury said last month that there is nothing for him to do more in professional boxing. Hence, it is not clear if this dream fight ever takes place.
Joshua and Fury came very close to making a fight in 2021, but Fury lost the case to Deontay Wilder made the fight not happen.
Ever since, both fighters have taken a different route to glory.
While speaking to “The Stomping Ground”, Smith said: “I hope that we get to see the fight, you know, that’s the fight we want to make, it’s the fight people want to see, but only two men can decide that, ultimately. And I think AJ’s up for it, but Fury currently, as he says, is retired. So, let’s see.”
Despite neither fighter being unbeaten now, there is still a buzz for this mega all-British showdown. Fury has a history of retiring and then making comebacks. So, Fury vs AJ might take place in future.
