Skye Nicolson’s unbeaten run as a professional boxer came to an end on 22 March 2025. It was her 13th pro flight as a boxer, having won the previous 12 with ease.
At Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, unbeaten Tiara Brown had a 10-round battle with Nicolson and won it by a standard decision. It was Tiara Brown’s 19th pro career victory. Hence, Nicolson lost her WBC female featherweight title.
Nicolson was the favourite to win the contest, but she did not look better than Tiara.
On June 12, Nicolson gave an interview to the Ring Magazine YouTube channel where she told how hard it was to take the loss at home.
She said: “It’s been intentional. I feel like there was a lot of talk, a lot of hype, a lot of expectation, and I kind of just tried to dial all that back, focus on myself, do some inner work, some mental preparation, look at where things went wrong, and yeah, right those wrongs moving forward. Yeah, I think maybe just taking a little step back and not being so in the spotlight all the time will actually be good for me. So, yeah, I’ve kind of just been enjoying the process again and working on being the best version of me.”
Nicolson is now looking to make a comeback, taking the defeat way behind her future goals.
