Mike Coppinger, who is now a part of The Ring Magazine, has given a hint that Oleksandr Usyk vs Daniel Dubois II will take place at Wembley Stadium on July 19 for the undisputed heavyweight championship.
As The Ring Magazine is an indirect sister firm of Riyadh Season, the Usyk v Dubois fight update might be true.
Usyk faced Dubois on 26 Augest 2023. The Ukrainian won the fight via a ninth-round KO at Stadion Wrocław, Wrocław, Poland.
It was Dubois’ second professional boxing career defeat. Since then, he has beaten Jarrell Miller and Filip Hrgovic before beating Anthony Joshua on 21 September 2024 and winning the IBF belt in the true sense.
Usyk, who has won 23 of his 23 professional fights in boxing, will be aiming to become the two-time undisputed heavyweight champion.
Last year, the 2012 Olympic Gold medalist beat Tyson Fury twice and created history by becoming the undisputed heavyweight champion.
He is the only pugilist who has beaten Fury in the professional ranks. Dubois did feel that in the first fight against Usyk, he won a knockdown. However, the referee did count it as a low blow.
This is something that makes this second fight something to look for.
