Unified champion Oleksandr Usyk will face IBF title holder Daniel Dubois for the undisputed heavyweight championship at Wembley Stadium on July 19 (Saturday). The fight is part of Riyadh Season.
One can catch all the action officially LIVE on DAZN pay-per-view. Usyk, who beat Tyson Fury in May 2024, and became the undisputed heavyweight champion, has a chance to become a two-time undisputed heavyweight champion.
As Usyk and Fury had the rematch, which took place in December 2024. Hence, the Ukrainian boxer had to leave his IBF title, which Dubois officially won when he beat Anthony Joshua in September 2024.
This will be the second time Usyk and Dubois will face each other. They first met on 26 August 2023, when Oleksandr Usyk won the fight in the ninth round via KO.
However Dubois did hit Usyk in that fight, which made him go down. But the referee did call it a low blow.
Hence, Usyk did get extra time to recover. And many boxing pundits did feel that it was a low blow. But some still see it as a legit shot.
Usyk said: “I’m grateful to God for the opportunity to once again fight for the undisputed championship,” Usyk said. “Thank you, Daniel, for taking care of my IBF belt — now I want it back.”
This is something that makes Dubois feel he can end Usyk’s 23-fight unbeaten run (13 KO). Since facing defeat to Usyk, Dubois; 22-2 (21), has beaten Jarrell Miller, Filip Hrgovic and Anthony Joshua.
