Chris Eubank Jr does not share a very cordial relationship with his father, Chris Eubank Sr.
While Conor Benn’s father Nigal is backing him before the mega legacy fight (26 April), Eubank Jr has not allowed his father to be a part of the promotional campaign.
Over the last five to six years, Eubank Sr has been directing his son to move up to the super-middleweight division. However, the 35-year-old boxer has long featured in the middleweight ranks. This is a reason behind having a bitter relationship.
Eubank Jr said: “My own father, a man I idolised for my entire life, and he doesn’t speak to me,” added Eubank Jr.”
“We haven’t spoken for years and he thinks I’m a disgrace. These things are what pain is to me.”
In Oct 2022, Eubank was very loose to face Conor. However, positive drug test of Conor did made the fight not happen.
However before the fight, Eubank Sr was unhappy with the weight cut his son was doing.
And it was below middleweight level. This was the start of their bond fading away.
