Bill Haney, who is the father and manager of Devin Haney, is unhappy with a potential fight against Teofimo Lopez falling.
Both fighters won their respective fights last month. Recently, the update hit the boxing world about the Lopez vs Haney fight dealings falling apart. It is one of the top boxing contests that fight fans would like to see. On paper, it is a 50-50 matchup.
Teofimo Lopez’s pro boxing record is 22-1. His only defeat came against George Kambosos Jr in November 2021. Since then, it has been a great comeback.
Devin Haney has won 32 of his 33 pro fights, with one no contest against Ryan Garcia last year.
Bill said: “We did all we could to make these big fights happen. But this is our second time sitting down with Teofimo Lopez. Me and Devin are committed to delivering the biggest fights in boxing. If Gordo ain’t ready, Gordo ain’t ready.”
Turki Al-Sheikh is behind setting these mega fights. And there have been very few occasions in the last two years where he failed to make the mega event happen. So Al-Sheikh’s impact might make both parties agree to the fight.
