  • Promoters: Queensberry Promotions’ Frank Warren promoted him early in his career and even made him the world champion in 2015. He then, in 2022, worked with BOXXER and made Ben Shalom his promoter. Three years later, in 2025, he signed a deal with Matchroom Boxing’s Eddie Hearn. 
  • Trainers: Joe Gallagher was the first trainer of Liam, who led him to become a world champion. Later, he joined hands with Joe McNally. Both of them are Liverpool-based trainers. However, Gallagher has also set his gym in Saudi Arabia. 
  • On his sixth pro fight, he had a draw against Terry Caruthers in September 2010. 
  • On his 14th pro battle, Liam defeated Steve O’Meara to win the vacant Commonwealth light-middleweight title. 
  • Two fights later, in September 2023, he outdid Erick Ochieng to win the vacant British light-middleweight title. 
  • On 10 October 2015, a victory over John Thompson in Manchester made Liam the WBO light-middleweight champion. 
  • After defending the WBO title twice, he lost his career’s first fight against Canelo Alvarez in September 2016. 
  • He then had a tune-up fight, followed by beating Liam Williams twice. 
  • In July 2018, Liam lost to Jaime Munguia for the WBO light-middleweight title. 
  • In 2019, he made a comeback with crucial wins. 
  • Then, in 2021, he travelled to Russia and lost a highly controversial fight to Magomed Kurbanov. 
  • Then, in October 2021, Liam won the battle of Liverpool against Anthony Fowler.
