British boxing legend Johnny Nelson feels that Anthony Joshua’s ability does not match his recent performances.
Last year in September, Joshua faced a brutal defeat to Daniel Dubois at packed Wembley Stadium. Since then, the two-time unified heavyweight champion has been recovering from injuries.
Johnny Nelson, who has seen AJ right from his early Sky Sports days in the pro ranks, felt that Brit might not be able to match his confidence in the ring.
He told Ring Magazine YouTube channel: “Mentally his confidence doesn’t match his ability.”
Joshua has won 28 of his 32 fights, with four defeats. The recent performances do suggest that he is not as good as he was in the late 2010s.
Dubois’ fight did suggest that he has massive punch ability, but overall chin is not as solid as it was from 2016 to 2020.
