In the late 2010s, Jermall Charlo was one of the key professional boxers. However, now the American middleweight boxer is a kind of unknown quantity in boxing.
Following the COVID-19 first wave in 2020, Charlo has failed to be active. He has fought just thrice ever since.
Charlo, who turned professional in 2008, has not faced even one world-class fighter. Before 2020, Jermall was accusing Canelo Alvarez of not fighting him.
However, the great Mexican has fought all the great pugilists, while Charlo has been inactive.
The 35-year-old now feels that a super-middleweight clash against Caleb Plant is a must for his legacy.
Plant has been active since 2020 and has fought several known names like Canelo and David Benavidez.
Charlo said: “[A fight against Plant is] part of our legacy. I’m down for it, he down for it, so I don’t see why it can’t happen if we got the same handlers.”
As Charlo only talks and does not engage in productive fights, the fight fans have lost hope at the core. Being unbeaten in 33 fights, and still has not even one great name on his CV tells a lot about his unproductive career.
