Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford will battle for the undisputed super-middleweight titles at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on 12 September.
In 2025, it is being seen as one of the biggest sports events. Crawford, who is unbeaten in 41 professional boxing fights, is jumping to super-middleweight to fight Canelo.
Floyd Mayweather Jr and Dmitry Bivol are only two fighters who have beaten the Mexican great. However, all Canelo has done in his career is to fight the best.
His resume might be better than Crawford. But, the former welterweight king is known as a very hard boxer to beat.
Eddie Hearn, who did promote Canelo a lot from 2020 to 2023, feels that the 34-year-old fighter has an edge. But Crawford’s movement can create him a lot of problems.
Last weekend, Canelo beat William Scull in a 12-round fight. However, the Mexican did not look great in the fight as Scull ran a lot and created several problems for him to look good.
Hearn told Ring Magazine (YT channel): “I mean, I think for the Crawford fight, he’ll really get himself up for that fight. I just think the movement is gonna cause him a lot of problems.”
Despite Canelo has the weight advantage, a number of boxing fans and pundits give Crawford a great chance to beat the two-time super-middleweight champion ans create history.
